Dear Parents

Christmas is a time for giving, for thinking of others, for generosity. In British culture, it is generally a family time. Here at Wellington, it is the time for our whole family, made up of all students, parents and staff, to think of each other.

That’s why the Friends of Wellington Christmas Fayre means so much to us. Every member of our community gets the chance to enjoy being together, with the kindness of the season in our hearts, and the sparkle of joy in our eyes :)

This year’s Fayre will be better than ever: the excellent Committee have been working tirelessly alongside the school to prepare everything; it is looking amazing! I believe I am on the Dunk Tank list, and I trust you will be paying to have your shot!

 Have a great weekend

Well done to our intrepid Year 10 students who this week completed their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Hike. The group took two days to complete this important element of the qualification - honing their walking, navigation, camping, cooking and leadership skills. Well done everyone - it was worth the sore feet - carrying the backpack is no mean feat.

In Year 5, the excitement is mounting as we gear up for the Christmas Fayre. With the Theme topic focus on sustainability and responsibility, students creatively repurposed old shirts through the art of tie-dye, aiming to raise money for Fair Trade. Don't miss this stall at the Fayre on Sat 2 December.

Our Year 3 and 4 students got down to some serious competition in the House Basketball today. The first hour or two of the day saw students playing, supporting and being very active in all ways for their Houses.

What a lovely assembly last week as our Junior School children talked about World Kindness Day. The day inspires participants around the world to think of others and to recognise the impact of kindness on society. What does kindness look like in School and out of School.

Christmas has definitely arrived at Wellington. We've been decorating the lobbies and selling tickets and game coupons for the Christmas Fayre on 2 December. Our Friends of Wellington and School teams are preparing for a Winter Wonderland! We are thankful to one of our Christmas Fayre sponsors, Sansiri, for our beautiful Christmas tree which adorns our Master's Lawn in front of School.
