Dear Parents

We’re already in the final month of 2023 (where did the time go?) Coming together as a community is something we do very well, and all is just about ready for tomorrow’s FoW Christmas Fayre – the biggest and best one yet. I am first up on the ‘Dunk Tank’, so do arrive early!!

I really enjoyed two Junior School Christmas concerts this week. Thinking back to the first ones we did, back in 2018 before we even had a theatre (we were all in the Music Learning Studio!), I can see just how far the Music programme has come, and how much our students really do benefit, and learn, and grow, from the outstanding work of Ms Corrigan’s Music team. Amazing!

I commented to the audience after one of the concerts that Christmas is most of all a time for children, rather than us adults. And it’s good to remember that – in the end – our fundamental purpose, as parents or teachers, is not actually to pursue our own desires and personal pride, but to support these young human beings in their own flourishing.

See you tomorrow, at Bangkok’s #1 Christmas Fayre!

 With best wishes
Chris

Dear Parents,

Excitement is in the air and our signature Christmas Fayre is just hours away !!

So what can we expect tomorrow? I would say a lot of fun and happiness for all members of the community.

The Fayre will start at 15.00 but Mr Nicholls and I will start the live tour at 14.30 so please tune in the school Facebook Page to get a glimpse of what the Fayre has to offer. The Parade will then start from the Junior School Lobby at 15.15 and the official greeting on the main stage in the Forest Park will start at 16.00. After the greeting, our Master will walk to inaugurate the Dunk Tank. So, prepare to line up for a grand splash!! And do keep an eye on the Dunk Tank as the list of volunteering teachers in that station is hot stuff.

There will certainly be so many activities for everyone! Student performances, more than 20 fun games, various kinds of good food, entertaining music, a picnic area for families, a mingle zone for Senior students, an adult zone for parents and teachers and staff with lots of drinks. Please prepare to stay up a bit late as there will be a grand finale drone show at 21.45. This is not to be missed!

I would like to thank everyone involved for making this fantastic event a reality year after year. It is a real state-of-the-art event by our community and for our community.

There is only one more thing I would kindly ask everyone to do - join the Fayre and have fantastic time together.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year in the most amazing school with the best community.

See you all at the Christmas Fayre!

A highlight of the Loy Krathong celebrations on Monday was the Krathong making session in Pre-Nursery. Our wonderful teaching team invited in all the parents (and some grandparents) to create krathongs and to watch the little ones float them.

Take a look at our angels fluttering in the breeze on the Junior Walkway. Part of the decorations for our upcoming Christmas Fayre - every child has created their own individual angel for the display. Pop and take a look on your way through School.

Our Wellington Extra programme spans sports, arts, academics and more. One of our very popular Junior School clubs is Doctor Juniors. Yesterday as their term long sessions came to an end, they were visited by an emergency team and were given the opportunity to hop aboard and see what the inside of an emergency vehicle really looks like.

Open Morning
Please tell your friends about our Open Morning. We only host one each year and we always make it very special. This academic year the date is Saturday 3 February and we will be open to all interested new families from Pre-Nursery (or even pre Pre-Nursery) up to Sixth Form. Last year we had our fabulous Year 6 students running the Junior School tours and Senior School students showcasing their own spaces. We also had musical performers to delight our new families. We will be inviting many of our students to take part again this time. We’ll keep you posted but please keep the date in mind.
