Dear Parents
Welcome back to Wellington, and a very happy new year to all. It’s been very nice to see everyone back, relaxed and rested after a good holiday – and to see all our new families, joining us for 2024!
Following on from December, we are still seeing a fairly steady stream of flu/covid cases, so please do watch for symptoms, and – of course – don’t send your child in to school if they are not well. If you have it now, get well soon :)
Something else I mentioned in December: the Air Quality will tend to be poor in Bangkok for the next couple of months. As always, we will follow our procedures carefully, which will mean that your child may spend more of the day indoors than at other times of the year. Sometimes, they may be inside almost all day, which might result in a bit more unspent energy than usual when you pick them up in the afternoon!
It’s going to be another very busy term. We’ve already had our first Curriculum Residential week – Year 6 travelled to Kanchanaburi on Tuesday morning and returned this afternoon – and the pace will not drop. Year 11 have their IGCSE mock exams next week; do spare a thought for them: from now till the middle of June, Year 11 teachers and students become an unbreakable team, in full ‘we shall succeed together’ mode!
Enjoy the first weekend of the Lent Term – and, to all our students: have a very Happy Children’s Day!
With best wishes
Chris

Tell your friends and family about our incredible Wellington Open Morning on Saturday 3 February. There is still time to register and join our community. Year 6-11 parents, your children’s teachers will be letting you know about any roles required for the children on the day. Exceptional student tour guides, speakers, participants and performers are a key part of showcasing our School to its best advantage! |

Following the recent storm damage to the partial construction of the new tennis court roof, we have now agreed a revised programme with the contractor. The tennis development will be ready in August for the start of the 2024 academic year, including four new tennis courts built with the same surface as the Australian Open, a roof with lighting to extend the hours of play both during bad weather and into the evening, and seating for spectators to watch tennis matches and activities on the Senior sports field. |

We have an exciting February ahead here at Wellington College! Camp Beaumont, the United Kingdom’s most established multi-activity day camp provider will be back again in Bangkok, creating inspiring adventures throughout the school holidays at Wellington College! With over 50 camps in the UK, and 17 across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand, Camp Beaumont’s much-loved, confidence-boosting experiences encourage 3- to 12-year-olds to step outside their comfort zones and realise their potential. |

Since the very first camp over 40 years ago, Camp Beaumont has inspired children of all ages to grow in self-confidence and independence. Programmes are developed with industry experts to encourage young people to get active, get outdoors, express themselves and so much more. With over 50 activities, from archery to junior yoga there really is something for everyone – and every day brings something new.
Throughout the week, Camp Beaumont offers children the opportunity to learn new skills, discover new interests, try new things and have fun with new friends, all set within the fantastic facilities we have here at Wellington College.
