Dear Parents

It was nice to receive confirmation from CIS this week that they have officially Accredited us. Praise and gratitude are due to all staff, students and parents who contributed to the preparations and the visit last term. CIS is a process, so we will continue to do community self-evaluations of various kinds from now on.

The report includes positive comments about our school’s ethos, wellbeing, ‘stunning campus’, financial management, IT infrastructure, Admissions department, ‘flourishing’ education, welcoming culture, confident students and very supportive parents. It’s a very long document, which will be available to read soon.

Things have been getting very exciting in the Skylight Building recently. The 4th Floor (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, general classrooms and the Master’s Mini-Office) will be open in a few weeks, and the 5th Floor (the Art Studio Complex and the Sixth Form HQ) not long after that. I hope you will pop in when you get the chance :)

Looking forward to a peaceful (but work-filled) weekend!

With best wishes

Merit Making Ceremony
On Thursday, we held our annual Merit Making ceremony, graced by the presence of Dr. Darika Lathapipat, Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Mr. Gurdist Chansrichawla, Governor. We were honoured to welcome and receive blessings from monks from the Chanasongkhram Ratchaworamahawiharn temple. This auspicious event marked a significant and promising beginning for all our staff here at Wellington College Bangkok in the new year. Thank you to all those staff who attended.

Withdrawals for Summer Term

A reminder that Weds 24 January is the last day for notifying us of any withdrawals at the end of Lent Term. Please contact Admissions with any enquiries.

Options Fair

We would love to see all Year 9 parents at our IGCSE Options Fair on Thurs 25 January at 16.00. You are strongly advised to attend with your children to understand the array of subjects available to your children in Years 10 and 11 and beyond. There will be an opportunity to talk to Head of Options and Careers, Ms Kate Salisbury and all the subject teachers and leaders. It’s not to be missed!
Open Morning
Tell your friends and family about our incredible Wellington Open Morning on Saturday 3 February. There is still time to register and join our community. Year 6-11 parents, your children’s teachers will be letting you know about any roles required for the children on the day. Exceptional student tour guides, speakers, participants and performers are a key part of showcasing our School to its best advantage!

What a rather marvelous group of actors we have amongst our Year 1 teachers and ALTs. This week they presented another great panto for the delectation of the students. Students loved the stunning start to the next unit – Jack and The Beanstalk.

We have an exciting February ahead here at Wellington College! Camp Beaumont, the United Kingdom’s most established multi-activity day camp provider will be back again in Bangkok, creating inspiring adventures throughout the school holidays at Wellington College! With over 50 camps in the UK, and 17 across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand, Camp Beaumont’s much-loved, confidence-boosting experiences encourage 3- to 12-year-olds to step outside their comfort zones and realise their potential.

Since the very first camp over 40 years ago, Camp Beaumont has inspired children of all ages to grow in self-confidence and independence. Programmes are developed with industry experts to encourage young people to get active, get outdoors, express themselves and so much more. With over 50 activities, from archery to junior yoga there really is something for everyone – and every day brings something new.

Throughout the week, Camp Beaumont offers children the opportunity to learn new skills, discover new interests, try new things and have fun with new friends, all set within the fantastic facilities we have here at Wellington College.
