Dear Parents
As our oldest students grow up, we do more and more things to support them on their pathway towards university and careers. One of these things is a strong programme of Work Experience. Our community is so full of highly successful people in a wide range of careers and industries: we are an ideal source of top-quality internship and mentorship opportunities.
You will shortly receive an email from our Senior School work experience team; if you, or your business, can contribute to our growing bank of placements, please do join in!
I was very happy to meet with managers from Bumrungrad Hospital recently, to sign an agreement for Wellington families to get 10% discount on their services. If you are a patient, please show your School ID to access this offer. (It’s been my hospital since I first came to Bangkok – and I recommend!)
November continues to be very busy – and only two weeks to go till the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 7 December! I have a hat, I’ve placed the star, and I can’t wait…
I wish you a peaceful weekend
With best wishes
Chris

Dear Parents
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback on our Wellingtonian magazines. We are so glad that you are enjoying reading them – whether it’s online, with your own copy at home or just browsing in our lobbies. Please feel free to take home a copy if you wish – or drop into the Admissions office and pick up a copy from the team.
We’d love to hear what you think so we can make the magazines even better next year!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Jane

Battle of the Bands
The atmosphere in the Theatre on Tuesday afternoon was truly electric as every student and teacher – and a few parents and visitors, too – settled in for some great entertainment! We very much enjoyed every performance – and all eight were fantastic in different ways! Songs ranged from “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” through “Mamma Mia” to “Die with a Smile”. Every part of this was student led and the preparation, rehearsal time and creativity really showed through. Superb audience participation including glow sticks, posters, dinosaurs dancing and cheering really created a fabulous atmosphere.
It’s impossible to mention everyone who should be mentioned – as Mr Jamie Scammells and his judging panel said “All the performers are winners. All the audience are winners.” But this is Senior School Houses so there was a winner!!
Congratulations to –
· 3 rd Place – Orange
· 2 nd Place – Picton
· 1 st Place – Lynedoch.
Thank you to Mr Rayad Denyer Green and all the Music and teaching teams for your hard work and tech expertise. Take a look at some of the great pics!

IGCSE Drama
We are very excited to have our first cohort of IGCSE Drama students taking their exams in the 2024-25 academic year. This week they have presented their Year 11 Devised Component for their Performance Exam. Drama Teacher, Mr Ashley Edwards describes this as "a chilling exploration of loss, mental illness and the darkness within." The performance tells the story of a boy, Daniel's descent into psychosis - including scenes of neglect, madness, a lobotomy and more.
Thank you to Mr Edwards for his incredible hard work and encouragement to the students. Working alongside our incredible Music team and Director of Performing Arts, Ms Sinead Corrigan – the Arts are in very safe hands here at Wellington!

Christmas Trees and Decorations
Thank you so much to our wonderful Friends of Wellington who have decorated our school lobbies with such creativity! Make sure you soak up the festive atmosphere whenever you are in school. The Junior School Lobby features bells and candy canes along with a rather festive Nutcracker themed tree.
A huge tree adorns the Atrium in Senior School and lots of extra decorations can be found near our Reception desk. Soak up the atmosphere whenever you have a spare moment!

Christmas – Recycling Plans
This year, the Senior School Eco-Committee, led by our students, has been working in collaboration with Friends of Wellington to create a more environmentally sustainable Christmas Fayre.
As part of this, we are working with Recycle Day, a company founded by Nobel (Year 8)’s dad at the Christmas Fayre. The company develops an application to help everyone recycle well, including pick up services and waste drop points (currently in 13 shopping malls and more!)
At the Christmas Fayre, we will have recycling stations scattered across the school, each with several bins for separation, and Recycle Day staff to accompany each one. Here’s how you can support us -
- Use the Recycling Points: Clearly labelled bins will be available to separate recyclables, compostables, and general waste
- Think Before You Throw: Please take a moment to ensure your rubbish goes into the correct bin. Our team will be on hand to help!
- Set an Example: Encourage your children to recycle and learn about responsible waste disposal.
Let’s work together to make this year’s carnival a fun and environmentally friendly celebration. Your support will help us make a real difference!
Thank you,
The Eco Committee
