Dear Parents
Thank you very much to everyone who responded to last week’s Senior School invitation to support our students’ wide-ranging Work Experience programme.
We are always keen to get more businesses and sectors involved – so, if you haven’t yet, please do register interest by clicking HERE if you think you could provide any opportunity for Wellington students to learn about the real world of work!
November is almost finished (and an amazing month it has been!) – and now our attentions are turning to the Christmas Fayre, Krungthep Kreetha’s #1 festive event, this year with its exciting Carnival theme. It’s going to be the biggest, the dazzlest and the best yet – are you looking forward to it? I’M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!
I wish you a peaceful weekend
With best wishes
Chris

Dear Parents
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback on our Wellingtonian magazines. We are so glad that you are enjoying reading them – whether it’s online, with your own copy at home or just browsing in our lobbies. Please feel free to take home a copy if you wish – or drop into the Admissions office and pick up a copy from the team.
We’d love to hear what you think so we can make the magazines even better next year!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Jane

Christmas Concerts
WOW!! What an amazing start to Christmas with two very special concerts this week. On Tuesday the stage was filled with our amazing Reception and Year 1 children – some of them onstage for the very first time. Their voices rang out with a selection of Christmas songs – old and new. Well done to our little ones – you were amazing!
On Thursday it was the turn of Years 3 and 4 in a bumper special featuring solo performances, vocal ensembles, violins and some gorgeous whole year performances. The afternoon finished with a rousing Christmas medley. It was such a wonderful show – we are very proud of you all.
Thank you to all the class teachers and ALTs for organisation and rehearsals. Thank you to the AMAZING Music team – what an effort goes into these shows. You are much appreciated.
And thank you parents. Your patience (waiting to enter!) your engagement and enthusiasm were second to none.
Next week we have our next two concerts – Years 5 and 6 followed by Senior School. We can’t wait to see more of our parents there!

Movember
We are very proud of our teachers, Mr Tom Lemon and Mr Daniel Bell who have been growing moustaches for Movember – a month dedicated to raising awareness and funds for men’s mental health, testicular and prostate cancers.
Both teachers have personal reasons for doing this and any support and donations you would like to give, would be greatly appreciated. Teachers can give through boxes in the staff rooms. Parents can drop donations with Admissions.

Brebas Challenge
We are very proud of our students who took part in the Brebas Challenge this November. The Bebras Challenge introduces computational thinking to students in schools worldwide, under the supervision of teachers, over a two-week period every November. Last year, over 3 million students from more than 80 countries participated!
Each participant tackles a series of interactive tasks, designed to encourage logical thinking and problem-solving skills appropriate for their age group. The challenge is conducted online and tasks are marked automatically by our competition system.
The tasks are designed to allow every student the opportunity to showcase their potential, whether they excel in maths or computing, or not.
Our efforts have been coordinated by Mr Dax Ward in Senior School who will be presenting the successful students with their awards later this week. He tells us “Many of our talented and mathematically gifted students rose to the occasion, enjoying the intellectually stimulating tasks and the opportunity to measure their skills against those of students worldwide. It was an academic adventure that combined fun and challenge, allowing students to gain confidence and pride in their abilities.
We are proud of all participants and look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of Wellington’s top computational thinkers!

Giving Tree Bags
We want to thank our amazing community! At this time of year, we appreciate you thinking about and contributing to someone else’s happiness. Ms Tanisha McCraw has told us – “This year, we have undertaken a huge initiative for Giving Tree Bangkok. In total, 350 bags (206 more than last year) have been filled to send to the north of Thailand to the Karen tribes.
These bags will go a long way to making a difference to the children's lives. We have sent supplies of shampoo, soap, pencils, books and much more. We can't wait to see their faces when they receive them. Thank you once again for all your generosity. We are continuing to make the effort to be good global citizens.
Thank you for your thoughts, your gestures and your actions!

Exam Tips
With Mocks coming up in January for our Year 11 and Year 12 students we are sharing the first in an occasional “Tips and Tricks” section.
Help your children study and stay healthy!
'Revision is not about cramming; it’s about consistency. Students should remember to take care of themselves in the lead up to their mock exams —sleep, nutrition, and exercise matter! For A-levels and IGCSEs, balance your workload, ask for help when needed, and stay positive. Preparedness comes from planning, perseverance, and confidence in your abilities.'
Ms Claire Bope – Head of IGCSEs

Basketball
As we approach the end of our Basketball season there are so many exciting matches being held at home and away!
Under 11 Girls Tournament at Brighton- The girls U11 team entered the GBAC tournament undefeated and opened against the top team of the other division SISB. The game was very close and all the girls played and performed admirably. The stage is set for what promises to be a classic GBAC final at Wellington against two evenly matched teams.
Under 11 Boys Tournament at SISB – These boys have been amazing this season, winning three out of five games in the tournament at SISB. It was a great preparation for their remaining league game. The U11 Boys remain in the hunt for a spot in the GBAC Championship!
Under 19 Boys vs Aster (57-10) -. These boys have had an exciting four straight wins and are playing very well all round! The boys are looking forward to competing in the upcoming GBAC tournament where we look forward to ranking highly!
Sport Action
