FROM THE MASTER

Dear Parents

Two upcoming events of equal (but very different) amazingness which you really must not miss:

  • The Senior production on 26 and 27 November.  This year it’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’.  If you were lucky enough to see The Addams Family last year, or Alice in Wonderland the year before, you’ll know how unbelievably excellent these shows are.  And even if you have never been before: this is definitely one not to miss!
  • Then, at the end of that same week, on Saturday 29 November, comes the Friends of Wellington Magical Christmas Fayre.  Every year the Fayre is bigger and more extraordinary than before; this one will be our most magical yet.  When all members of our community come happily together, as the sun sets over the twinkling lagoon, you will hear the happy laughter of children, taste the fulsome flavours of a delicious dinner, and see the amazing spectacle which ‘we are Wellington’ at its finest.  You really must be there.  Expecto Patronum!

Have a wonderful weekend

With best wishes

VIDEO: THE MASTER'S TALK:
EARLY YEARS CHECK-IN
This week's video sees the Master join our young learners in the library to see how they've settled so far this term, talking about which books they're reading at the moment.  By the way, did you know we had a slide that gets our students (and the Master!) between libraries...?  You can watch the video by clicking below.
HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Junior School Parents

This week, sport has taken centre stage in the Junior School - and what a week it’s been!

On Saturday it was the Bangkok Prep Puppy Cup, where our Junior Squads competed with great enthusiasm. Three squads were swimming - two of which were newly formed this year. This meant that for many of our students, this was their very first swimming competition. We couldn’t be prouder of their effort, courage, and team spirit. To top it off, Wellington placed 3rd overall - a fantastic achievement that reflects the incredible growth of our swimming programme and the increasing number of students getting involved.

On Wednesday, the excitement continued with our Year 5 and 6 House Water Polo event. The atmosphere was electric, with children, parents, and staff all enjoying the action. Not only was this a brilliant showcase of water confidence, but also an amazing opportunity for our students to develop their teamwork and collaboration. It really is a joy to witness so many of our students embracing these opportunities, building confidence, and having fun whilst keeping themselves fit and well.

Looking ahead, next week brings our KS2 residentials and Early Years Parent-Teacher Conferences – so much to look forward to!

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend.

HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

We were thrilled to share some outstanding news from the IGCSE Cambridge awards: James has been recognised as Best in the World for Mathematics, and Gaemyui has achieved Best in Thailand for Physical Education. These accolades are a testament to their hard work, intellectual curiosity, and the high standards of teaching and learning here at Wellington. We are incredibly proud of them both, and all our students who achieved their results in August.

This week, Mr Lin delivered a powerful parent session on Academic Culture at Wellington, focusing on four key concepts:

  • Making Every Lesson Count

  • Challenge with Support

  • Feedback Fuels Growth

  • Practice Makes Progress

These principles underpin our approach to teaching and learning, and we know that when they are reinforced at home, students thrive. Parental support is one of the most significant contributors to academic success. Whether it’s encouraging good study habits, engaging in conversations about learning, or simply showing interest in your child’s progress, your involvement makes a measurable difference.

Wishing you a lovely weekend,

Jane
