FROM THE MASTER

Dear Parents

I’m in Kuala Lumpur today, at the FOBISIA Headmasters conference.  I have met so many people who attended, or have heard about, the Festival of Education we hosted here a couple of weeks ago.  Something that really impressed them (aside from our outstanding facilities, which are world-renowned these days) was the extraordinary Keynote session, featuring our own Cindy Sirinya Bishop, alongside English actor, writer and comedian Francesca Martinez.  Their conversation on our Theatre stage has genuinely inspired many hundreds of teachers and leaders across the region.  They discussed what it means to be different (which everyone is!), and how a culture of belonging can support everyone to flourish.  It was a really superb session.

Thank you for responding to our parent survey last week.  We have extended the deadline, so if you have not yet completed it, please do (you can click through from here): it provides very important data which informs whole-school strategy.

I hope you may be able to enjoy a nice cool weekend.

With best wishes

Chris

HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents

Christmas has officially arrived at school! Our learning studios and Lobby are sparkling with beautiful Christmas trees, and the sense of excitement is growing as we look forward to this year’s magnificent Christmas Fayre. It promises to be a truly special occasion for our community, and I hope you will all be able to join us. A heartfelt thank you to our Friends of Wellington for their outstanding organisation and creativity in bringing such an extraordinary event to our school.

On Wednesday, we were thrilled to welcome musician Andy Gleadhill to school, who worked with students from Reception through to Year 3 on drumming and rhythms. What fun was had! The children showed incredible engagement and enthusiasm throughout the sessions, completely inspired by this opportunity. What a great way to prepare for their upcoming Christmas performances for parents.

Today, two year groups enjoyed exciting trips beyond the classroom. Year 2 visited the theatre to watch The Lion Inside, exploring the value of courage through this beautiful story. It was a fantastic opportunity to see professional actors in action - especially inspiring as the children prepare for their own showcase next term. Meanwhile, Year 3 headed to the History Museum, deepening their understanding of the Stone Age and bringing their classroom learning vividly to life. What incredible real-life experiences for our children to enjoy.

Next week I look forward to visiting Wellington Shanghai as part of their Annual Review team. I look forward to telling you all about it on my return!

Wishing you all a super weekend everyone.

Kindest regards,

Hannah

HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

This week, students in Years 7–10 and Year 12 have received their reports, which include three key data points:

  • Learning Behaviour (Grades 1–3)
Reflecting how well students demonstrate positive learning habits such as preparation, perseverance, and engagement.

  • Current Attainment Grade
A grading system showing students current grade, providing clarity on progress and next steps.

  • Student Progress
Indicating whether your child is on track to meet or exceed their projected outcome (Blue, Green, Amber).

These reports are designed to give a clear picture of both academic performance and learning behaviours, helping us work together to support every student’s success. Year 11 and Year 13 will receive their data in the coming weeks, and we will keep you updated when these are published.

If you have any questions about the reporting system or your child’s report, please contact your child’s House Tutor in the first instance.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to provide the best learning experience for our students.

Best wishes,

Jane
