4 DECEMBER 2025
FROM THE MASTER

Dear Parents

I have to give huge thanks to the very excellent Friends of Wellington committee for their astonishing Christmas Fayre.  Once a year, I give the campus over to the parents for this event, and it is always a joy.  This time, somehow I was still a headmaster (oh, I wish I had some of Dumbledore’s powers!) – but the whole day was even more magical than promised.  As our school continues to grow, I am very happy that the sense of community has expanded and deepened in the way it has.  Hugely impressive!

In due course, I will sit with the FoW to discuss plans for next year’s event – what might be changed, developed, and introduced to ensure this event continues to be a highlight of the school calendar.

Don’t forget that tomorrow is a holiday! I'll see you all back in school on Monday.

Wish best wishes

Chris

HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

To begin, a heartfelt thank you to our Friends of Wellington for organising such a truly magical Christmas Fayre last Saturday. What a wonderful way to bring our community together at this special time of year.

Christmas celebrations have continued in school this week, with our Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 children sharing the magic of the season in their fantastic musical performances. It was a joy to see the children performing with confidence and enthusiasm - and even welcoming a very special visitor from the North Pole!

As we approach the end of term, here’s what’s coming up next week:

  • Monday 8 December – Years 3 to 6 Christmas Concerts
  • Christmas Year Group Celebrations – various times throughout the week – please look at for further information in your child’s year group newsletter
  • Thursday 11 December – Christmas Lunch and the infamous Santa Dash   (Please ensure all Year 1 to 6 children wear their House tops for this exciting event!)
Parent Teacher Conferences for Years 1 to 6 also continue next week. Our teachers are looking forward to meeting you and celebrating your child’s amazing progress this term.

Finally, a reminder that Friday 12 December is a half day. Please see collection times below:
  • Pre-Nursery: 11:00am
  • Nursery & Reception: 11:10am
  • Year 1: 11:20am
  • Year 2: 11:30am
  • Years 3 & 4: 11:40am
  • Years 5 & 6: 11:50am
Thank you for helping make this festive season so special for our children. We look forward to celebrating together in the coming days!

Have a wonderful long weekend ahead.

Kind regards.

HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

Firstly, I want to thank the Friends of Wellington for organising such a fantastic Christmas Fayre at the weekend – bravo! It was a truly wonderful occasion.

I continue to be amazed by the standard of Music here at Wellington. Last week, our talented orchestra and singers delivered an outstanding performance of Beauty and the Beast, showcasing incredible skill and dedication. On Tuesday, I dropped into an informal gig featuring the two bands through to the final of the FOBISA Battle of the Bands - both were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see parents enjoying the show! Our Senior School students and staff were also treated to a Music Assembly this week, with a diverse range of impressive performances. With so much talent on display, I’m now really excited and looking forward to our headline Christmas Concert next Wednesday afternoon.

Hours and hours of practice and refinement go into these performances, and I feel proud and privileged to have such remarkable talent in our school.

Wishing you all a lovely long weekend,

Jane
