Dear Parents
End of Michaelmas Term means we have already completed 40% of the school year. Day by day, time passes almost imperceptibly, but over almost four months, everybody changes and, when you stop to take stock, you realise how much.
School is a lot about change, because learning requires it – yet human brains are biased towards the status quo, which can make change uncomfortable. I think we’ve managed to navigate that complexity pretty well this term, and can happily celebrate how different we have all become since August.
Now we have three weeks away from here – many of us far away – with some time to reflect, rest and refresh. But don’t worry: Wellington will be waiting for you when you return!
Don’t forget that Lent Term begins on Tuesday 6 January (Monday is a staff training day). I look forward to seeing you all (and quite a lot of new families) then. In 2026.
With best wishes of the season.
Chris

Dear Junior School Parents,
We began this week with more wonderful Christmas music celebrations, delighting in the extraordinary talents of our KS2 musicians. It’s always inspiring to see the wide range of opportunities our children enjoy, with collaboration at the heart of every performance. I particularly loved hearing the incredible singing from our children - it truly filled our Theatre with festive cheer! A huge thank you to our Music team for all their hard work in making these concerts so special.
On Wednesday, our Nursery children also had a magical time welcoming their mummies and daddies into school to decorate cookies and prepare for Christmas. How wonderful to have this opportunity to create delicious treats together.
Also, on Thursday afternoon, Years 1 to 6 had a fantastic time at our annual Santa Dash, chasing Santa around the track and helping him get all the presents ready for Christmas Eve. Such a special way to bring the whole school together in festive fun and laughter.
It has been a truly delightful term, and we are so proud of everything the children have achieved. I want to say a huge thank you to our staff team for everything they have done to support and encourage your children, as well as a huge thank you to our parent community for your ongoing support and cheer. Now, as we head into the holidays, we look forward to a very well-deserved rest.
I wish you all a very happy Christmas and a joyful New Year. See you in 2026!
Kindest regards,
Hannah

Dear Parents,
As we reach the end of a busy and rewarding term, I want to take a moment to celebrate the many achievements and experiences that have made this term so special. From academic success to sporting triumphs, charity initiatives, trips, and expeditions, our students have truly impressed us - always demonstrating the Wellington Values in all they do.
Next term will be a pivotal time for our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they enter the final stage of preparation for their IGCSE and A Level examinations. We are committed to supporting them through targeted revision sessions, academic clinics, and wellbeing initiatives to ensure they feel confident and prepared. While the holiday is an opportunity to rest and recharge, it also provides valuable time for students to consolidate their learning and continue focused revision.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our students, staff, and families for your unwavering support and partnership. Together, we have built a vibrant learning community where every student can thrive.
Wishing you all a joyful festive season and a restful break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 6 January, for another exciting term.
Best wishes,
Jane |
