13 FEBRUARY 2026

Dear Parents

Next week is our Half Term holiday, as you know.  We will be back on Monday 23 February.

It might seem like a short sprint from the Christmas holiday to now, but nevertheless students and teachers are all very much in need of this brief time off.  I hope you will be able to enjoy it as a family.

And to everyone who will celebrate next week, I wish you a very happy, fortunate and prosperous new year.  Today I very much enjoyed our Chinese New Year activities - what a great day!

More culture: tomorrow is Valentine's Day, a celebration of our favourite emotion!

So at this time, when our thoughts turn to renewal, and reconciliation, and fortune, and love: I wish you the best of all of them.

With best wishes

Chris

HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

Today, our Junior School was alive with colour, creativity, and cultural appreciation as we came together to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Our children enjoyed a full day of traditional arts and activities designed to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part -especially our Early Years and Year 1 parents who joined us in school to support the children in their learning.

We also hosted a very special assembly that showcased both the talents of our students and the beauty of Chinese performing arts. The programme featured violin performances, traditional Chinese dances, a wonderful reprise of the Year 2 song from last week’s event, and an energetic performance from one of our Junior School Bands - all seamlessly guided by our very impressive student emcees.

One of the highlights of the day was the arrival of this year’s Lion and Dragon Dance performers. Their vibrant display - full of rhythm, colour, and tradition - captivated our students and staff alike. This treasured annual tradition is always eagerly anticipated, and this year was no exception.

A huge thank you goes to our dedicated Chinese teaching team, whose hard work, creativity, and passion made this celebration truly special. Your commitment to offering meaningful cultural experiences for our children is deeply appreciated.

Next week is half term, and it is certainly a very well‑deserved break for both children and staff. We look forward to welcoming everyone back after the holiday, ready for more exciting learning opportunities - including our much‑loved Book Week, centred this year around the theme “ The Power of Words.”

It’s hard to believe we have already passed the halfway point of the academic year. We wish you a restful and enjoyable holiday ahead.

Kind regards.

HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

As we wrap up a very busy and productive half term, I would like to congratulate all our students and staff for their hard work, energy, and commitment over the past weeks. It has been a pleasure to see so much learning, collaboration and progress across the school.

I would also like to wish all our families a very happy Chinese New Year as we welcome the Year of the Horse. May the year ahead bring you good health, happiness, and success.

They may not want to think about it today, but a gentle reminder that Year 11, 12, and 13 will begin their mock examinations in the week we return. In the meantime, I hope everyone enjoys a wonderful, restful break. It is very well deserved.

With best wishes,

Jane
