27 FEBRUARY 2026

Dear Parents

We have been quite lucky this year with air quality, but – as always – the new season brings new challenge.  Hot season means we have to look carefully at the Heat Index, which combines temperature and humidity data to help us identify risk and response.    We have a policy, which you can find here, and we monitor Heat Index throughout the day (alongside AQI and – when it comes – lightning risk), and take appropriate action.

Next week is our Book Week.  Honestly, as far as I’m concerned, every week is book week, and every day is book day.  But it’s still important to take time to give books some specific, special attention.  I’ve been using a Kindle since 2009, and there are thousands of books in my virtual ‘library’.  Before 2009, there were thousands of books in my actual library – and I had to stop because there were simply too many to keep transporting around the world when I moved.

Disappearing into a text – fiction or non-fiction – without all the notifications, and pop-ups, and apps, and online games, that the rest of modern life throws at you: an excellent way to stay human, and independent.  I recommend taking some time for yourself this weekend: get a book and a nice cup of tea, sit down, and just read.

With best wishes

Chris

HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents

What a lovely first week back it has been after the half term break! The children have returned full of energy and enthusiasm, and it has been wonderful to see them diving straight into their new Themes and units of learning.

This week brought a very special moment for a group of our talented artists from Years 3 to 6, who travelled to St Andrews for the first ever International Schools Bangkok Art Festival. This collaborative event brought children from across the city together to share in creative workshops, meet new friends, and celebrate the joy of artistic expression. We are incredibly proud of how confidently and creatively our students represented our school – thank you to Mr Gabriel and Mr Fulke for arranging such a special opportunity.

Also this week, it has been a pleasure welcoming so many parents onto campus for our Thai Parent–Teacher Conferences. Thank you to everyone who attended, engaging so thoughtfully with your child’s learning. I know our Thai teachers have thoroughly enjoyed the chance to speak with each of you and to build the ever-important school-home partnership.

Looking ahead, we cannot wait for Book Week next week as we celebrate The Power of Words. It promises to be a wonderful week filled with reading, storytelling, and imagination. Don’t forget to join the fun on Friday by dressing up to represent one of your favourite words!

Until next week, have a restful and refreshing weekend.

Kind regards.

HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

I hope you and your families enjoyed a restful half‑term break. It has been wonderful to welcome students back to school, and I am pleased to share that we have made a purposeful and focused start to the new half term.

Our Year 11, 12 and 13 students are sitting their mock examinations this week, and we have been impressed by their maturity, commitment, and determination. They are working exceptionally hard in preparation for the public examinations, which begin at the end of April, and we are proud of the focus they have shown.

On Wednesday morning, we were treated to a wonderful music assembly featuring a range of varied and highly accomplished performances. It was a lovely opportunity for our community to come together and appreciate the talent and confidence of our young musicians.

This always feels like the shortest half term - and with only 25 school days until the Songkran break, I can certainly see why!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Jane
