20 MARCH 2026

Dear Parents

When I was a child (so many years ago), I would ask for something and my parents would reply, ‘what’s the magic word?’

The magic word was ‘please’.

They say good manners cost nothing.  Correct.  A ‘please’ or a ‘thank you’ takes only a moment.  But that’s not the whole story. Good manners may cost THB 0, but they are worth a great deal, because they are a powerful way of creating and maintaining respect for each other.

In that sense, good manners are an investment in trust. They help to create an environment where people know that they belong. That matters greatly in a school. Children need to be able to trust the adults around them, because without trust, and without belonging, life can simply be too difficult to make sense of. And when life feels like that, learning cannot properly happen.

Thank you for reading!

I wish you a happy and polite weekend.

With best wishes,

Chris

HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents

This week, our Junior School children have enjoyed a range of enriching trips, connecting with students from other international schools across Bangkok. On Wednesday, our Science competition winners travelled to Harrow, confidently sharing their investigations during the final stages of this year’s competition. Another group attended the ‘Languages Olympiad’, celebrating their knowledge of Chinese while enjoying the opportunity to collaborate with others who share a love of language learning. In addition, some of our House Captains visited King’s College for a special leadership event. Across these experiences, our students represented our school superbly - we are incredibly proud of them all.

Thursday marked a true celebration of our school community during our Open Morning. Visitors were treated to delightful musical performances and thoughtful speeches from our students, as well as confidently led student tours, all of which offered a real sense of the warmth, talent and pride that runs throughout our school. This celebratory feeling was further enhanced by Year 3’s assembly, in which the children took to the stage to showcase their learning about Ancient Egypt. Their performance was a wonderful display of confidence, collaboration and creativity, and we are extremely proud of how they presented themselves.

Alongside all of this, we have enjoyed Nursery ‘Come See Me Sing’ sessions throughout the week. These joyful moments have been a delight for families and staff alike, highlighting our youngest learners’ growing confidence and love of music.

Looking ahead, next week brings even more trips for our Reception and Nursery classes, and excitement is already building as we prepare for our annual Times Table Rock Stars Day on Friday 27 March. I can’t wait to see all the rocking costumes and to celebrate our love of maths in true rock-star style!

Until then, wishing you all a super weekend.

HEAD OF SENIOR SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

It has been another busy week in the Senior School, with students involved in a range of academic activities. British Science Week ran successfully across the school, and a number of students also took part in the Languages Olympiad at Bangkok Patana School. In addition, some of our older students attended a medical school conference, providing further opportunities to engage with learning beyond the classroom

Looking ahead to next week, we have the Kangaroo Maths Challenge. Last year, Wellington was awarded Top Senior School in Thailand - no pressure at all! We wish all those taking part the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating their achievements.

We are also very much in the final days of school for Year 11 and Year 13, as they prepare to embark on their final examinations. This is an important and intense time, and we are proud of the focus, resilience and maturity they are showing. Our Year 12 students are equally working hard as they prepare for their AS examinations, and we wish them all the best in their final preparations before exams start next month.

Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support. We wish you all a lovely and restful weekend.

With best wishes,

Jane
